In vertical format, Cape Ann's irregular coastline dominates. Gloucester Harbor opens at the center, with Rocky Neck extending as a small peninsula into the inner harbor. Eastern Point reaches south, and the Annisquam River cuts across the cape to create an almost-island geography. The map is full of inlets, ledges, and tight passages.
